Nothing gets the good old creative juices flowing like a competition, with a chance to let go of the mold and to drive all your creative energy into a master piece.

Competitions dares stylists to experiment with colours and styles, fuelled on by the desire to inspire and impress and the best way to get industry all juiced up is to put a challenge to it!
Not only is their recognition in it, but it helps you to recognise potential all around you.

An annual occurrence is the BarberCraft competition held Nationally and Internationally. Their next one is on the 18th of November to be held in the Cape of Good Hope Castle CT with judges: Suzaan Saayman – FAME Systems,  Shafiek Ganief – Shafiek’s Gents Hair Salon, Shaughn Adams – salon Image and Hair (chairman of EOHCB), Jody Bothma – BarberSA, Glen Summers – Sorbet Man, Pieter Neethling – hehaircorporation, all qualified industry experts with years of experience in the salon and on stage, all of them at one stage accepted the challenge to compete awarding them with prestigious industry recognition.

Keep on the lookout for hairdressing competitions, challenge yourself, reach high and jump to it! Get others around you to fill your tank with inspiration, so that you can keep moving forward.

Attend workshops for styling and colour, like our FAME Systems’ men’s inspiration evening. Keep up to date with Pinterest and Instagram as inspiration can come from anywhere.

Follow the big brand houses like Schwarzkopf, Wella, L’Oreal, Redken, American Crew, and Joico to see what competitions they are offering on their websites.
